Book a rental car with an additional driver
If you’d like to share the driving on holiday, a rental car with an additional driver is the perfect choice. This way you stay flexible, can take turns behind the wheel, and enjoy your trip even more relaxed.
Why add an additional driver?
Longer journeys are easier to manage when you can share the driving. At the same time, fellow travellers can sit back and enjoy the scenery while someone else drives. And should anything happen, it’s reassuring to know that more than one person is authorised and insured to drive the vehicle.
How to book an additional driver
On the car selection page, you can set the filter Additional driver under “Services”. You’ll then only see offers that already include this service. If it’s not included, you can simply add an additional driver as a paid extra.
If you decide later: no problem. You can add an additional driver afterwards – either via our Customer Service at +49 (0)89 82 99 33 900 or directly when collecting your rental car from the local partner. Of course, the booking is also possible at your travel agency. The corresponding amount per additional driver is paid directly on-site to the local rental partner.
Good to know at vehicle pick-up
All drivers – both the main driver and any additional drivers – must sign the rental agreement with the local rental partner. Only then is each driver fully insured.
