Are you travelling with your baby or small children and can’t bring your own car seat with you? No problem: with Sunny Cars you can reserve a baby carrier or child seat directly when booking your rental car. Payment is made locally to the rental partner when you pick up your vehicle.

Child seat regulations abroad

In most countries, there is a legal requirement to secure children in the car with an appropriate seat. You will find the specific regulations for your holiday destination in the Special Rental Terms and Conditions of your rental car. This way, you know exactly what kind of seat you need in advance.

What sizes of seats are available?

The type of child seat depends on your child’s age and weight:

Baby carrier: up to approx. 13 kg (Group 0/0+)
Child seat: 9–18 kg (Group 1)
Booster seat: 15–36 kg (Group 2/3)

Availability varies by destination. You will see all details during the booking process under Accessories in the filters as well as in the Specific Rental Terms and Conditions. As the number of seats is limited, we recommend reserving a seat early – especially during school holidays.

Important to know

Child seats are provided by the local rental partner but usually need to be installed by you. This ensures that the seat is fitted correctly and safely.
