Description and scope of data processing

On our website there are two option to subscribe to a free newsletter. When signing up for the newsletter, data from the input form is transferred to us.

Mandatory field when subscribing via the website or in the booking process (automated)

  • Email address

The following data is also stored when you subscribe:

  • Subscriber ID
  • The user’s IP address
  • Source of registration
  • Date and time of subscription
  • Date and time of double opt-in consent
  • Subscription text (consent text)
  • Status of the application

When unsubscribing

  • Date of unsubscription

Your consent for processing the data will be obtained during the subscription process via the double opt-in procedure and you will be referred to this Data Protection Notice.

Newsletter tracking

So-called tracking pixels are integrated into our email newsletter. This allows us to statistically evaluate the success or failure of our advertising measures. The tracking pixel tells us whether and when an email was opened and which of the links in the email were visited.

No data is forwarded to third parties in connection with data processing for the sending and statistical analysis of newsletters. This data shall only be used to send the newsletter.

Additional usage data is stored for this purpose:

  • Date of last sending
  • Time when the email was opened
  • Last click on a link
  • Conversion
  • IP address

Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for the processing of the data after you subscribe to the newsletter is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

The legal basis for the processing of the additional data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in connection with Article 5(2) GDPR for traceability of the given consent.

The legal basis for the processing of the tracking data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Purpose of data processing

The user’s email address is processed in order to send the newsletter. If you provide your address and name, we use these to personalise our communication. The other data stored in the course of the subscription process serves to make the given consent traceable, to prevent abuse of the services or of the email address used.

The personal data collected by the tracking pixel is evaluated to optimise the sending of the newsletter and to better adapt the content of future newsletters to your interests. This also constitutes our legitimate interest.

Duration of storage

The data will be deleted after consent has been withdrawn, unless they must be retained for evidence purposes. Email addresses are stored for evidence purposes as blocked data in a blacklist which we cannot view.

Right to object and right to rectification

You can change your email address, title, first name and last name via a link in the newsletter at any time.

You may terminate your consent to subscribe to the newsletter at any time. There is a corresponding link for this in each newsletter.
