How does the Pick-up via smartphone work?
With this service, you do not have to go to a counter or machine to pick up your rental car, saving you valuable time right at the start of your holiday.
How it works step by step:
- After landing at the airport, activate roaming on your smartphone
- The link to the rental agreement is sent directly by SMS
- The rental contract is simply signed on the smartphone
- No deposit is required
- Information on the registration number and parking lot number of the vehicle follows directly afterwards
- Then go directly to the car park, the car key is in the vehicle
For a smooth pick-up via smartphone, it is necessary to complete an online registration up to 48 hours before the rental in order to transfer or register all important data (such as ID information and driving licence) in advance. You will receive the registration link with your voucher.
In which destinations can I book Pick-up via smartphone?
Pick-up via smartphone is bookable for all airports in the Balearic and Canary Islands.

How do I book the service?
Simply set the filter „Pick-up via Smartphone“ in the car selection. You will find this in the filter menu under "services". In this way, you will receive all offers that already include this kind of pick-up.
|Please note: Pick-up via smartphone can only be booked up to 5 days before the start of the rental period. For last-minute bookings, this service will therefore never be shown as an option.
Can I add more extras if I use the Pick-up via smartphone?
Do you want to add an additional driver or reserve a child seat? You can find out exactly what options are available in the special travel conditions of the rental car. There may be additional charges for these services, which you will be informed of during the booking process and which you will have to pay locally. Also via your smartphone!
If you have booked extras, you will be redirected to an external payment page after concluding the rental contract. A credit card is required here - all types of credit cards are accepted, i.e. also prepaid / debit cards, and the card does not necessarily have to be issued in the driver's name. Don't have a credit card to pay for the extras? No problem, simply go to the Hertz office and pay there, for example, by EC card.
