Go green with your rental car! With a rental car, you enjoy your holiday even more. What could be better than exploring your surroundings at your leisure? As you know, however, driving a car generates CO2 emissions, which contribute to climate change. We’ve an option for you if you want to help minimise the impact of climate change.
Offset the carbon footprint of your rental car
Sunny Cars offers a way to offset the carbon footprint of your rental car. To this end, we have concluded an agreement with GreenSeat, which is part of the Climate Neutral Group. This organisation offers private individuals and organisations the option of compensating harmful CO2 emissions. More than 100 travel and tourism organisations in the Netherlands and Belgium support GreenSeat. Compensation comes in the form of support for projects to reduce the impact of climate change by means of wind farms, hydroelectric power stations, solar panels, and biogas/compost projects. Calculating your footprint
After reserving your rental car, you can visit the GreenSeat website to offset the impact it will have on the environment. Based on the data you enter, GreenSeat calculates the average emissions generated by using the rental car. It only costs several euros to compensate the estimated carbon emissions. The resulting funds are invested in sustainable energy projects to achieve an equivalent reduction in atmospheric greenhouse gases and used to neutralise the impact of the use of your Sunny Cars rental car. You will receive a certificate as proof.
Our operations are climate neutral
This is all well and good, but what is Sunny Cars itself doing? As a broker, we depend on our suppliers. After all, they are responsible for procuring the vehicles for the local fleet. We are, however, always on the lookout for contract partners whose fleet includes energy‑efficient vehicles. Our organisation has also implemented the following measures:
Neutralisation of the office’s CO2 footprint
Printed matter on FSC-certified paper stock
Use of video conferencing to reduce the number of business trips
‘Green’ fleet of lease vehicles (hybrid/BlueMotion technology
Environmentally friendly office furnishings and fittings
